Welcome to the Getting Started guide for Himaya, your AI-driven Secure Web Gateway designed to streamline internet access security with adaptive threat detection and dynamic policy controls. This guide will walk you through the onboarding process, helping you set up Himaya quickly to secure your organization’s internet access.
Step 1: Access Your Himaya Account
- Account Provisioning:
- Your account should have been provisioned by the Himaya Account Management Team. You should have received an email with your login credentials and a link to the Himaya Admin Portal. If you have not received such an email, please contact your Account Manager.
- Use the provided credentials to log in for the first time. You will be prompted to change your password upon initial login for security purposes.
- Access the Dashboard:
- Once logged in, you can access the Himaya Dashboard, where you can view policy models being enforced, configure parent rules and exceptions, configure integration and exporters, configure security settings, view real-time analytics, manage user access, and create support tickets.
Step 2: Deploy the Himaya Agent
Himaya’s lightweight agent needs to be installed on user devices to intercept web traffic and enforce security policies.
- Manual Installation:
- Download the Himaya Agent installer for your platform (Windows and/or macOS) from the Admin Portal.
- Follow the installation steps provided in the guide. The agent will automatically connect to the Himaya cloud proxy server and admin portal once installed.
- Mass Deployment (SCCM Integration):
- For large-scale deployments, use System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or any MDM to automate the installation across multiple devices. Please reach out to us for assistance with this.
- Export the Himaya Agent package from the Admin Portal and integrate it with an MDM or SCCM for streamlined, organization-wide deployment.
Step 3: Configure Security Policies
Himaya simplifies policy management with a dynamic approach that combines backend-enforced rules, directory sync-based adjustments, and AI-powered threat detection. Rather than relying on static policy templates, Himaya leverages real-time intelligence and context-aware controls to secure your organization’s internet access.
Backend-Enforced Policies:
- Himaya’s core security policies are enforced natively by our backend engine. These policies are automatically adjusted based on user roles, department names, and context pulled from your directory sync (e.g., Azure AD, Okta).
- The backend policies are designed to dynamically adapt without manual intervention, providing a baseline layer of protection tailored to each department (e.g., stricter controls for Finance, more flexible access for Marketing).
